This anniversary edition is a fitting tribute to Audemars Piguet’s illustrious heritage, combining modern materials, craftsmanship and heritage.

Last year, with the launch of the John Mayer Limited Edition, Audemars Piguet announced the discontinuation of the old perpetual calendar calibre 5134. In fact, as we have seen with the launch of the next-generation Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Automatic, there is now a new and modern calibre 7138. But this does not mean the end of this old JLC-derived movement, as Audemars Piguet has one last trick up its sleeve to celebrate its 150th anniversary: a skeletonised Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar (ref. 26585XT) in a titanium and BMG hybrid, powered by a skeletonised calibre 5135. So, yes, the calibre 5134 is no more… but it survives in a stripped-down version of this impressive new high quality replica watches.

The new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Skeleton 150th Anniversary model features a 41mm wide and 9.9mm thick titanium case, water-resistant to 20 meters, like all older RO QPs. The bezel, caseback frame and bracelet intermediate links are made of BMG, or Bulk Metallic Glass, an alloy containing more than 50% palladium. It first appeared in the RO Jumbo 15202XT designed for Only Watch and was later commercially released in the 16202XT Jumbo with a red dial. The screw-down titanium crown ensures durability, and the glare-proof sapphire crystals on both sides offer a clear view of the skeletonized movement.

The sapphire dial of this bold reference 26585XT features a brass-blue inner ring for the week number, and a minute track next to it that is clearly marked for precision. The familiar perpetual calendar layout remains unchanged: month and leap year indicators at 12 o’clock, date ring at 3 o’clock, day of the week at 9 o’clock, moon phase subdial at 6 o’clock – all in dark blue with white printed markings. Several design elements pay homage to Audemars Piguet’s historic skeletonized perpetual calendar pocket watch (Ref. 25729), which is on display in the brand’s museum. These include the rich blue hue of the subdials and inner bezel, the silvery grey circular hour markers and the delicate font used for the indices. The stylized Audemars Piguet logo is an eye-catching detail on the astronomical moon phase subdial.

The watch is powered by the ultra-thin skeletonized calibre 5135, a skeletonised version of the now discontinued calibre 5134 – which will also soon be discontinued. It first appeared in the boutique-exclusive Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Skeleton 41 Ceramic; later, it attracted attention in the Cactus Jack Ceramic Edition launched in collaboration with Travis Scott in 2023.

The JLC 5135 movement runs at a frequency of 19,800 vibrations per hour and provides a power reserve of 40 hours. It has a suspended barrel and a skeletonized rotor that moves along a peripheral ring with a ruby roller, thereby reducing friction and extending life.

The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Skeleton 150th Anniversary (Ref. 26585XT.OO.1220XT.01) is presented on a titanium bracelet with palladium-based BMG intermediate links and a three-leaf folding clasp.
